WARRI—IZON Okosu-Oku (Izon Council of Elders), Delta State, has said that any envisaged inclusive in the Niger Delta dialogue with the Federal Government towards resolving renewed militancy in the region with Chief Edwin Clark at the helm was bound to fail.
Etolor, in a statement, yesterday in Warri, Delta State said: “The militants should have known that the inclusion of the ex- Federal Commissioner of Information in the matter may either stop, delay or bring negative results to the Niger Delta region.
“President Muhammadu Buhari knows most of the Niger Delta leaders that were wining and dining with former President Goodluk Jonathan, but were deliberately silent about the development of their own region throughout Jonathan’s tenure.
“Buhari may not have any genuine discussion with a negotiation team set up or led by Chief Clark that may likely be loaded with former opposition leaders, appointees and adopted fathers who could not advise their own son on reasonable development of Niger Delta in six years as President.”
