MAIDUGURI—Youths, on the platform of Peace Club, formed by Healthcare Development Focus Initiatives, HECADF, a non-governmental organisation, with support from Nigeria Stability and Reconciliation Programme, NSRP, has been commended for voluntarily embarking on sweeping mosques and churches, sand-filling of swampy areas and evacuation of refuse dumps in various wards of Maiduguri metropolis and Jere Local Government Area of Borno State.
The commendation was made yesterday by the Project Coordinator of HECADF in Borno, Mrs. Agnes Bashir, after monitoring activities of the club.
With the forming of 100 Peace Club members in March by HECADF, hundreds of Muslim and Christian youths in Maduganari, Musari, Hausari, Bolori, Dubai, Makers, London Ciki communities of the metropolis, have joined the club in rendering humanitarian services and peace building in the state on weekly basis.
The Project Coordinator, Mrs. Bashir, said in Maiduguri: “I am delighted to inform you that as peace gradually returned to our state, we are satisfied with effort of the Peace Club.”
