Free fibroid surgery to benefit 100

No fewer than 100 persons will benefit from a free fibroid surgery project organised by the Rotary Club of Festac Town, Lagos, in conjunction with Irene Fibroid Foundation.

Disclosing this during his investiture as 35th President of the club, Chief Charles Mbama, a legal practitioner and philan-thropist, noted that about N50 million was being raised for the club’s projects in the next one year.

Mbama said he would also contribute to nation building by organising fora to address religious and ethnic bigotry.

He said: “We will send five indigent children to India for heart surgery, sponsor four artificial limb replacements, sink three boreholes in Ajegunle, sponsor 10 indigent persons for cataract surgery, provide scholar-ships, donate two incuba-tors to Ajeromi General Hospital, empower unem-ployed persons with skills and micro-credit facilities in Festac and Amuwo-Odofin areas of Lagos.”
