The lawmaker representing Ojo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Obasa has launched the second edition of the Poultry training scheme and provision of starters’ kit for the good people of his constituency.
Speaking at the programme, the Executive Secretary of the National Human Rights Commission, Prof Ben Angwa urged Nigerians to stand for their rights as loyal citizens of this country.
” Nigeria as a country have joined hands with other countries in agreeing to the fact we all are one and should be treated equally irrespective of our background, gender, social strata and colours” Angwa said
In the same vein, the lawmaker spurred the beneficiaries of the second edition to work hard in surpassing the records of the inaugural beneficiaries. He promised them adequate support that would ensure their success.
“Let me assure you all, this is the time for us as partners in progress to fight against poverty in the land, this isn’t a time to empower then go to sleep, it is a time to ensure proper monitoring for success to be achieved.”
” This is a scheme designed to cater for 5,000 individuals within 36months, as you all are living witnesses to geometric rise of the numbers, we started with twenty-five now we are empowering tens of individuals, in a matter of months, God willing we shall empower thousands of youth.” Obasa said
Meanwhile, a beneficiary of the first edition, Mr Ibarahim Sanni thanked the lawmaker for sustaining the project and urged him to remain firm in pursing a better living condition for the good people of Ojo Federal Constituency.
At the programme were Mrs Aishat Obasa, wife of the lawmker, Dr Abubakar Yusuf, the facilitator and trainer and Prince Yomi Jimoh, a senior lecturer from the Lagos State University, Alhaji Adio Salami, Chairman of Ojo PDP and notable traditional rulers in Ojo Federal Constituency.
