Darius returns stollen cattle to owners, dare cattle rustlers

JALINGO – Taraba state government under the leadership of Governor Darius Ishaku have return over one hundred Cattle that were stolen by unidentified gunmen to the original owners at Seseni village in Bali local government area of Taraba state.

The one hundred and nineteen cattle were reported to have been stolen at gun point at Senseni village two weeks ago while the shepherd of the cattle, Muhamed Yahaya was also reportedly killed by the cattle rustlers in the process.

The cattle rustlers were said to be carrying sophisticated arms according to eye witness. The eye witness who declined giving his name for security reasons while speaking to Vanguard said the operation was first of its kind within the area.

” they were carrying heavy arms, they were also hostile in their approaches, we the passer by have to run for our lives because of the way the cattle rustlers were behaving” the eye witness spoke in Hausa language.

Presenting the stolen cattle to the original owners at Senseni village yesterday, the Special Adviser to governor Darius Ishaku on security matters Wunuken Angyu said the cattle were recovered from the cattle rustlers due to instructions from Governor Ishaku that no stone should be left unturned to recover the cattle.

Angyu said the recovery of the cattle from the rustlers was tireless efforts by the vigilant groups within the area.

Angyu further review that the cattle were recovered at Sunti Village in Donga local government area of Taraba state, he said the cattle rustlers were still at large.

The governor through the adviser warned that the security agents in the state would not give room for cattle rustling, he said the government was doing everything possible to arrest those behind the act.
