FORMER National Secretary of the Labour Party, LP, Dr Kayode Ajulo has denied leaving the party but that he resigned his position as scribe of the party.
In a statement, Ajulo said: “I want to reiterate that at no time did I grant any interview where I stated either expressly or indirectly that I have ceased to be a member of the Labour Party. I did voluntarily resign my position as National Secretary of Labour Party but I still remain a bonafide financial member of the party.”
Explaining the motive behind his resignation, he said: “I know that voluntarily resignation seems strange in our culture, but I see nothing wrong in bowing out if situation demands it. I contested for the exalted office based on certain projection, understanding and specific goals to give Nigeria people, masses and workers a platform to actualize their political expectation. However, in life there are time when the environment may not be conducive, where things seems to be out of order and things not working out the way you projected it.”
“Who knows the resignation may be a kneel-jerk to reposition the party to greatness. It should be seen as a sacrifice for a new beginning. Every end, after all, is the beginning of a new thing.”
