The media aide of Rivers State governor, Mr. Simeon Nwakaudu and the All Progressives Congress, APC , in the state have been engaged in hot exchange of words over the protest by IPOB.
While the APC in a statement by its state Publicity Secretary, Mr. Chris Finebone accused the state government of sponsoring the protest in the state, using media aide to the governor, Mr. Nwakaudu to mobilise the protesters, allegedly from neighbouring states, Nwakaudu on his part said it was unfortunate that the party would make such unsubstantiated allegations.
He said it was an indication of a drowning party that had lost relevance in the state.
He said the allegation by the APC showed that the party allegedly had questions to answer on the protest, stressing that the state government had no hand in the protest.
“It is rather unfortunate that the Rivers State APC has descended to an all – time low in their lack of decent political engagement by introducing ethnicity into their false allegations.
“The leadership of Rivers State APC deserves our sympathy and help as they are suffering from acute political rejection syndrome.
“They have been deserted by the people and the entire nation is aware that they are neck-deep in corruption and subversive politics.
