Despite the shock death of Super Falcons media officer, Graciuos Akojobi, the national women team players said they are prepared to take on their counterparts from Equatorial Guinea on Saturday.
Team captain, Evelyn Nwabuoku told thenff.com that they are ready for the match which will decide their participation at the Rio 2016 Olympics especially after they missed the London 2012 Olympics.
“We know Equatorial Guinea are a very good side. On our part we have resolved to qualify because Nigeria did not make it to the last Olympics in London.
“We want to correct our mistakes by being at the Olympics coming up in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
“Hearing that the Equatorial Guinea side said they know us quite well does not frighten us.
“If they claimed to know us we, too also know them very well so that is not a problem for us.”
The winner of the two-legged clash will engage the winner of the duel involving South Africa and Kenya for a spot at the 2016 Olympics.
