Yenagoa — Suspended Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Bayelsa State, Col. Sam Inokoba (rtd), has dragged the party before the state High Court, challenging the appointment of Chief Serena Dokubo-Spiff, as acting Chairman of the state PDP.
The fresh suit is before the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Kate Abiri.
Inokoba in the suit is asking the court to nullify the appointment of an acting chairman as it was contrary to the relevant sections of the PDP’s constitution.
There are two cases before the court on the issue YHC/86/2015 filed on June 15, 2015 and YHC/80/2015 filed on June 8, 2015.
The cases were filed after an earlier one was withdrawn.
In the new suits, Inokoba is praying the ourt to declare the action of the PDP Disciplinary Committee headed by Mr. Cleopas Moses null and void for contravening the party’s constitution.
Inokoba, is also seeking an order of interlocutory injunction restraining the 1st to 10th defendants which includes Governor Seriake Dickson and Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Kemasuode Wodu, from making any further investigation into alleged misconduct against him pending the determination of the substantive suits.
Meanwhile, Col Inokoba (rtd), has alleged that the life of his lead counsel, Dr.Sylvanus Abila, is under threat.
He said that Dr.Abila now receives strange calls on his GSM phone lines and is being trailed by certain unknown faces in Yenagoa.
