Lagos—A group, Nigerian Women for Truth, has appealed to the Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof. Attahiru Jega to release their permanent voters’ cards and tackle the issues concerning its distributions in the nation before the forthcoming election billed for March 28 and April 11.
In a peaceful protest to INEC zonal office at Sabo Yaba, Lagos State, the president of the organisation, Mrs. Kate Onyechere in company of members, numbering hundreds and comprising working mothers and mostly widows from all tribes of the federation, made their grievances and demand known to INEC officials “It is disheartening the way INEC is handling the distribution of PVCs especially in Lagos State. We are yet to receive our Private Voters Cards. We only have our temporary voters’ cards TVC which cannot be used for voting,” she said.
