Bayelsa judicial workers suspend strike

Yenagoa—The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, JUSUN, Bayelsa State chapter, yesterday, suspended its six weeks old industrial action following the decision of the state government to fully implement the provisions of the 1999 constitution as amended with respect to the funding of the judiciary.

Chairperson of the union, Mrs Selepreye Koin, disclosed this in Yenagoa while briefing newsmen on the agreement reached between JUSUN and the state government.

Koin flanked by executive members of the union, said the union only agreed to suspend the strike action for 30 days following the inauguration of a committee comprising representatives of JUSUN, the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, the government amongst others with a view to resolving the issue of increased wages for its members.
