ABUJA—Concerned Anioma Patriotic Forum, CAPF, in Delta State, has expressed apprehension over alleged discrepancies in the documents of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP’s, House of Representatives candidate for Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency of the state.
The group, in a petition to the PDP National leadership in Abuja, intimated the party’s top hierarchy of alleged discrepancies in the documents submitted to INEC by the candidate for the next month election.
In the petition signed by Patrick Amechi Okoh and Philip Onyema, Chairman and Secretary of the group respectively, they warned that since 1999, PDP had always won the constituency but with the alleged issues on the candidate’s documents might be a huge setback.
CAPF said “this may affect other elections in the area if care is not taken.”
The group claimed that the candidate, a member of the Delta State House of Assembly since 2007 recently changed her name raising concerns among party members and her political opponents as well.
In the petition, the group urged the PDP leadership to investigate the reason for the name change allegedly done through an affidavit sworn to in Abuja on a day the candidate submitted nomination form and not in Delta State.
The group warned that the discrepancies could be exploited by the opposition to the detriment of the party, urging to take immediate action before it was too late.
