YOLA — Senator Mohammed Bindow Jibrilla, representing Adamawa North Senatorial District, has emerged as the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate for the October 11 by-election.
He won the APC governorship primary held Sunday with 2,718 votes, beating Ibrahim Mijinyawa, who polled 2,268 votes.
Announcing the results of the election at APC state secretariat, leader of the National Committee that conducted the poll, Dr. Garba Abari, declared: “By the powers vested in me by the guidelines of our party, the electoral guidelines and the National Leadership of APC, it is my honour to announce Senator Mohammed Bindow Jibrilla having scored the highest number of votes as the flag bearer of the All Progressive Congress, for the Adamawa by-election slated for October 11 2014.”
Other aspirants in the primaries were Senator Ahmed Barata Hassan, 452 votes; Emmanuel Bello, 50 votes; Mr. Boss Mustapha, 515 votes and Mr. Yakubu Tsala, 187 votes.
