Three guards in court for stealing boss’ N10m

LAGOS—Three security men, were on yesterday, brought before an Igbosere Magistrate’s court, for stealing properties, from their employer, worth N10million.

The defendants, are Benedict Abah 36, David Abah 26 and Asukwo Aniekpeno Effiong 28.

They are facing a two count charge, bordering on conspiracy and stealing, preferred against them by the police. They were docked before Magistrate O.Olanipekun.

The prosecutor, Michael Kokoye, told the court that the defendants conspired amongst them selves, with others still at large, to commit the alleged offence.

He said the incident took place on July 26, 2014, at about 2am, at 15, Prince Taiwo Sesanya street, in Parkview Estate, Ikoyi.

Kokoye, said that the defendants, stole four 42 inches plasma Television, one internet machine and gold jewelleries, all valued N10 million.

The prosecutor, said that the stolen properties, belongs to their boss, one Mrs Adeleke.

Accorcing to the prosecutor, the offences are punishable under sections, 409 and 285 (10) of the criminal law of Lagos state of Nigeria, 2011.

Earlier, the security men pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge against them.

Magistrate Olanipekun, granted them bail, in the sum of N500,000, each and one responsible surety each, in like sum adding that a sum of N100,000, should be deposited in the account of the court registrar.

The magistrarte further adjourned the matter, till August 29, for mention.
