Former Eagles coach Samson Siasia will lead other ex-internationals to a three-day football clinic organised by the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) in Abuja.
According to Waidi Akanni, the clinic, which will involve about 2000 kids, will also have ex-Eagles’ coach, Austin Eguavoen and Taribo West serving as coaches.
Akanni stated that the clinic, holding later this month, is to enhance young players’ skills.
Akanni said that the clinic would also help in churning out talents that would benefit the country in future. He added that the clinic would take place in five other zones with the best 15 selected from every zone.
According to him, those selected will be camped in Abuja, where they would be further groomed and taken through life skills training.
“What we are doing is to help boost the talent base in the country by organizing a football clinic that will enhance the development of the participants. And that is why we have assembled former internationals who will work with the kids.”
He also said that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) under 13 and 16 teams would benefit from the clinic. “I am sure that by the time the exercise is concluded, the NFF can be sure of talents that would make up its under 13 and under 16 teams.”
