PORT HARCOURT: First Lady of Rivers State, Dame Judith Amaechi has concluded arrangement to build development centres in the 23 local councils of the state as part of her empowerment programme.
Dame Amaechi made this known in Emohua local council during her empowerment programme for women of the area.
She said the centres would be built in collaboration with development partners, stressing that they would create robust economy in the various communities.
“These centres are very imperative at this time, we desire a centre that would be built by women, managed by women and utilized by women themselves, it would encourage rural dwellers at the local government to develop their local economy in their area of comparative advantage.”
“This centre will be built under the platform of Rivers State Women Association of Nigeria (RIVWAN) and will provide the enabling infrastructure and support for developing local content of our women”, she said.
