Bauchi – An early morning rainfall that lasted for some hours on Friday delayed the commencement of the distribution of Permanent Voters Cards in Bauchi.
The PVC distribution commenced between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. in most centres, as against the scheduled time of 8 a.m. due to late arrival of INEC officials.
One of the officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that they waited for the rainfall to subside to safeguard their materials.
The turnout in some polling units visited in Tirwun, Dutsen Tenshi, Yelwa and Bayara area of the metropolis was impressive.
Security personnel were seen at most of the polling units to ensure smooth conduct of the exercise. (NAN)
