Mr Ekpo Okon, immediate past Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River, said on Wednesday that the party remained the best option for the people of South-South zone.

Okon said this in Calabar during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

“This great party has been on ground since 1999. It has recorded successes in the stability of the rule of law, job creation, power supply and youth empowerment.

“Rivers and Edo are currently governed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) but come 2015 PDP will win clearly in those two states,” he said.

According to him, the 2015 general elections in Rivers and Edo will prove to the people that PDP is still on ground.

“In 2015, the position of the president will not be negotiable. The South-South will work tirelessly to make sure that Goodluck Jonathan is re-elected.

“We in the South-South are in strong support of the re-election of Mr President and we must stand behind him to ensure his victory in the 2015 polls,” he said. (NAN)
