ONITSHA—Former chairman of All Progressive Grand Alliance, Chief Maxi Okwu, yesterday blamed the national chairman of the party, Chief Victor Umeh, for the recent defection of four members of the House of Representatives and two lawmakers in the state House of Assembly elected on the platform of the party to Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Speaking exclusively to Vanguard, Okwu, who described the development as very sad for the party, said it was an indictment on Umeh’s leadership after what he described as the obtuse Court of Appeal judgement on June 19, 2014.
He said: “ Every serious party guards jealously its membership, especially people of such high profile membership. You note the extra mile the PDP goes in seeking and trying to reconcile with migrant members.”
