New States: Anioma group lauds Jonathan, Uduaghan

AN Anioma socio-political group has commended members of the constitutional conference for their wisdom in recommending the creation of new states, especially Anioma State which they have been clamouring for a very long time.

In a communiqué issued by its Chairman, Chief Joe Obuseh, the Ikejiani of Igbodo Kingdon in Ika North Local Government of Delta State, the Ukpe Anioma, the Light of Anioma people expressed profound gratitude to the delegates of the National Conference, particularly those who served on the Restructuring Committee.

The group  thanked President Dr Goodluck Jonathan for the convocation of the National Conference and doggedness in tackling the challenges of insecurity in the country and urging for a speedy and safe resolution of the Chibok hostage crisis created by the Boko Haram insurgents in the north eastern part of Nigeria.

The inaugural meeting which attracted over one thousand people across Delta State expressed appreciation to Delta State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan for his rapid infrastructural development of Delta State, but more importantly “for supporting the work of the committee on restructuring especially in furnishing the committee with vital information on the need for the former Mid-Western region to have an additional state from the present Delta State”.
