IBB calls home grown solution to tackle insurgency

KANO - Former military President Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, has re-echoed his calls for internal mechanism to tackle the menace of insurgencies.

Babangida who was spoke in Kano shortly after a condolence visit  to the families of Sheik Isiyaka Rabiu, who lost his wife, Halima Isiyaka Rabiu, noted  that the issue of insurgency characterise with wanton killings is “something of worry about and should be tackled through homemade approach”.

He disclosed that, ‘ the issues at hand is a Nigerian problems that should be confronted with the Nigerian solutions, and I believe the government is doing well, I also like the approach taken by Kano, because they are very proactive by trying to put up some measures in tackling the case’.

General Babangida stated further that for the nation to be free, it has has to be  proactive in the approach towards tackling the issue of insurgency and bringing in serious measures from within.

‘I think if Kano will be so proactive and the strategy is paying why not use the same method all over the federation because it is only when you know where a problems is coming from you will be able to internally tackle’, IBB assured.

In the same vein the former President noted that the citizenry should be cooperate with security agencies  by desisting from unnecessary accusation  and  providing the desired information that would help  tackle the  menace of insurgencies
