Hope competition begins August 30

Hope Sports Competition at the weekend had a successful seminar to step up plans for the main competition billed to kick off on August 30 as former Lagos State Governor Alhaji Lateef Jakande, Etim Esin, Chaief Segun Odegbami and top Lagos officials took part in the seminar.

The competition organised for the less privileged and orphanage homes is targeted at bringing out the talents in them and exposing them to international opportunities.

At the seminar, the athletes were made to understand the rules and regulation guiding this year’s event and what to expect as dignitaries at the seminar also saw the forum as a good opportunity for them to rub minds with organizers and participants.

Initiator of the competition, Segun Lateef Jakande said the competition which will run through September 7 will feature following sports: swimming, table tennis, athletics, chess, scrabble and monopoly City of Lagos and football.

“We are really grateful to Nigerians who believe in this dream and I want to assure you that we are committed to bringing life and opportunities to the less privilege in our society so that they can see the opportunity that is waiting for them out there. The seminar was a huge success with the like Chief Odegbami, Alhaji Lateef Jakande,Etim Esin and few other ex-internationals in attendance to see what we are doing, I am grateful to them all”, he said
