UYO— Former militant leaders in the Niger Delta region have warned politicians to mind their utterances on the Presidential Amnesty Programme so as not to provoke another crisis in the region.

President of Leadership, Peace and Cultural Development Initiative, LPCDI, a forum for all ex-militants, Mr. Reuben Wilson, in a statement in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, noted that those who had faulted the Amnesty Office ought to have investigated their claims before making comments.

He spoke in reaction to comments credited to a member of House of Representatives from Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Bassey Dan-Abia and former National Publicity Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Anietie Okon, on the list of beneficiaries of the amnesty’s onshore education scheme.
