ABUJA — The Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu, has charged members of the Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria, ICCON, to industrialise Nigerian economy by converting raw materials into finished products.
The Minister made the call during the 6th Mandatory Continuing Professional Development, MCPD, workshop, organised by ICCON in Abuja, with the theme: ‘Nigeria’s Industrial and Economic Boom: Impact of Local Raw Materials.’
According to him, ICCON has the potential of employment generation, wealth creation and raising citizens’ quality of life through research and manufacturing of finished goods.
He noted that the economic development of any nation increased in geometrical proportion with growth in manufacturing from raw materials to finished products.
According to him, this will serve as a further boost to the government’s quest for economic empowerment of our people
