Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Abdul Jelili Adesiyan, has said that the massive turn out of people during a mega rally organized by the People Democratic Party in Osogbo at the weekend, has sent jitters into the spines of the leadership of APC in the state, especially the incumbent Governor Rauf Aregbesola, ahead of the next Saturday governorship election.

The APC had in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, claimed that the PDP was planning to rig the  governorship election in 10 local councils the state. It listed Ife Central, Ife East, Ife North, Ife South, Olurunda   Iwo, Ifelodun, Osogbo, Odo Otin and Aiyedade as the councils the PDP wanted to win at all costs. Reacting to the allegation, the minister, through his Chief Press Secretary, Wale Akinola, said the claim was not only baseless but also lacks logic in its entirety, adding that PDP did not need to rig to win the election.

“The APC’s claim that PDP wants to rig  the next Saturday election in 10 local governments out of the 30 local governments and one area office that make up the state, is not only baseless but a self confession of its intended plan to rig ahead of the Saturday’s decisive election.

“To say that APC is not popular in Osun State and good people of the state are tired of bad governance, is an understatement and that the party is making frantic efforts to win the next election at all costs is just to say the obvious.
