ONE of the recently expelled members of the PDP labeled as spies of the APC in the opposition party, Mr Teslim Igbalaye has traced their woes to their continued loyalty to the immediate former governor of the state, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola.
“I was expelled based on my loyalty to Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola. Inspite of my expulsion, that will not deter me from being loyal to him. If you have been following what has been happening to the PDP for a year now, you will discover that there have been lots of victimization especially to those loyal to Oyinlola. We held a rally for him and based on that rally in his hometown of Okuku, they first suspended us from the party.”
Faulting the decision of the PDP, he said “with the way things are going, I do not think the PDP in Osun State will exist. A serious minded party will never indulge in such acts of expelling its people with less than a month to a governorship election. Rather than woo people to the party, they are expelling. What happened in Ekiti State is a different scenario, you cannot compare it to Osun State because Aregbesola is a grassroots man.”
Igbalaye, who is a former chairman of Osogbo Local Government Area in Osun State added: “we have had tremendous development since his assumption in office. You can see the roads and schools that did not exist before he took over.”
A lot of infrastructural development going on in Osun State and so, you cannot compare what happened in Ekiti to Osun.”
