BELO HORIZONTE(AFP) – Mirolsav Klose became the World Cup’s all-time top scorer on Tuesday scoring in Germany’s apparent rout of Brazil to take his goal tally in the tournament to 16

The 36-year-old Lazio striker had drawn level with Brazil’s Ronaldo on 15 in Germany’s 2-2 first round draw with Ghana.

And he claimed the record outright when scoring in the 22nd minute in the semi-final in Belo Horizonte against Brazil.

Germany tore apart Brazil 5-0 in the first half of the World Cup semi-final in Belo Horizonte .

Brazil’s dreams of a sixth title on home soil appeared to lay in shreds after goals from Thomas Mueller, a Toni Kroos’ double, Sami Khedira and the World Cup ‘s new all-time record scorer Miroslav Klose.
