Isoko South Women Group, ISWG, in collaboration with youths in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, have said that they were opposed to godfatherism and imposition of candidates in the state.

Leader of the group, Mrs. Elo Okoro, said many aspirants obtained forms under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to contest the local government elections in the state, noting that a situation where somebody will single- handedly impose his brother or servant on the people was uncalled for and unacceptable.

She said: “We should use our position positively and productively. Going from house to house or making calls will not help matters. It rather leads to social violence and insecurity.”
