160 players made up of five zonal male and female teams will be vying for honours when the National Finals of season four of the annual Airtel Rising Stars U-17 tournament kicks off in Lagos on tomorrow, at the Yabatech Sports Complex, Lagos.
The number consists of a male and female team of 16 players from each of the five zones namely Port Harcourt, Enugu, Ilorin, Abuja and Lagos. They qualified for the national finals after winning their respective zonal cfinals concluded recently
The four-day national finals promises to offer best of grassroots football laced with excitement, entertainment.
Winner of the national finals in each category will represent the country at the Africa Championship to be hosted in Gabon in August.
Port Harcourt zone will be represented in the male and female categories by Rivers State which defeated Delta and Akwa Ibom states in the respective categories in the final matches played inside the Sharks Stadium, Port Harcourt.
White Chiefs FC and White Princesses FC, both of Enugu will represent the zone in the male and female categories.
Ilorin zone will be represented by Kwara State in both categories.
