Scotland coach Gordon Strachan has announced his squad for the May 28 international friendly with the Super Eagles at Fulham’s Craven Cottage ground in London.
The Tartan Army will square up against their Nigerian counterparts as a test game for both sides as the African champions start their Brazil 2014 World Cup preparations.
Strachan has handed a debut call up to Derby County pair of Craig Forsyth and Chris Martin who have been instrumental in the Rams chase for a promotion slot to the Barclays Premier League.
Derby County captain Craig Bryson also made the cut as well as Gary Caldwell and Shaun Maloney of Wigan who return to the fold after injury lay-offs. Also included in the squad is Watford’s exciting winger Ikechi Anya who has Nigerian ancestry.
Nigeria head coach Stephen Keshi had earlier last week released a 30-man preliminary squad that he hopes to prosecute the friendly matches arranged for the Super Eagles with the view of selecting the final 23 by the June 2 deadline.
The Super Eagles beat Scotland 2-1 the last time they meet in April 2002 prior to the Japan/Korea 2002 World Cup.
