The state Commissioner for Forestry, Adebayo Fari   stated these, weekend, at Oke‑Mosan, Abeokuta to herald the third anniversary of Ibikunle Amosun‑led administration.

The commissioner, who explained that the suspects were arrested at various locations of the state’s forest reserves for alleged illegal operations also disclosed that no fewer than 120 lorry-loads of illegal logs/flitches were confiscated in different locations in the state through the efforts of men of Nigeria Police Force.

He, however, said all of them had been charged to court through the Ministry of Justice, adding that except the 10 civil servants who he said would face a disciplinary panel under the civil service laws.

According to Fari , in a bid to reduce illegal operations in our forest estates, the ministry constituted two special task force teams which eventually nabbed 15 people

“Right now, we have one of the village heads who is talking to the Police now on what he knows about one or two illegal operations in his domain”.
