ABUJA— An electricity generating firm, Super Solar Group, has said it is deploying a new technology across the country to generate up to 3,000 Megawatts.
The group, which gave the assurance during a visit to the Minister of State for Power, Moha-mmed Wakil in Abuja, said the plan was to complement the passion to deliver on power reform by President Goodluck Jonathan.
Leader of the delegation and former Minister of Information and Orientation, Professor Jerry Gana, stressed that the goal of government in achieving uninterrupted power supply would be actualised as the project will give the required breathing space pending the resolution of gas-to-power issue.
Gana said the 3,000Mw power generation target is realisable with the support of the Federal Government.
In his remarks, Wakil said the government was determined to lift the rural electrification agency’s activities to an enviable height.
He said the Federal Government is set to harness more resources in providing the rural populace with electricity, noting that 70 percent of Nigerians live in rural areas where access to electricity is low.
