Abuja – A six-man contingent of the national under-19 beach volleyball teams would leave Kaduna on Thursday, May 15 for Niger Republic, an official said on Wednesday.
Musa Nimrod, the Chairman of the Beach Volleyball Commission of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), disclosed this in a telephone interview.
He said the contingent was going for the FIVB U-19 World Championships qualifiers.
“A male team of two players and a female team of two players, as well as a coach and an accompanying referee, will leave for Niger Republic on Thursday.
“They are going for the final phase of the 2014 FIVB U-19 Beach Volleyball World Championships qualifiers.
“Six countries are expected to participate in each of the two categories of the qualifiers,’’ Nimrod said.
The FIVB U-19 Beach Volleyball World Championships are scheduled for Porto in Portugal from July 29 to Aug. 3, 2014.(NAN)
