The Zamfara Government said it N130 million to fumigate the state as part of its efforts to tackle malaria in the state.

The Director-General, State Environmental Sanitation Agency (ZESA), Alhaji Shehu Na’Allah, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Gusau on Friday.

Na’Allah said the government decided to fumigate 14 local government areas following increased mosquito bites and the effect on pregnant women and children.

He said that the state government awarded the contracts and the agency collaborated with the contractor to carry out the exercise.

“We fumigate all the local government areas across the state starting from Gusau and ended at Kaura Namoda,’’ he said.

He, therefore, called on the people of the state to ensure effective sanitation of their environment in order to prevent mosquitoes from breeding. (NAN)
