MAIDUGURI—A BANKER and House of Representatives aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Borno State, Alhaji Mohammed Bukar has promised to address the twin issues of poverty and insecurity if elected in 2015.
Bukar of First City Monument Bank, FCMB, who is aspiring to represent the Maiduguri Metropolitan Council, MMC, however, prayed God to thwart his ambition if he would not live up to expectations of the electorate if eventually he won the election.
Bukar who spoke with newsmen in Maiduguri, shortly after accepting a call by his people to contest the election under the APC in the next year’s general elections in the country, said that the nation would not develop until the twin problems of poverty and insecurity were addressed. Commenting on the dilapidated facilities in the state hospitals/health centres, Bukar said, “these hospitals are mere consulting centres for patients, as the people do not even have the money to buy prescribed drugs and other hospital consumables.”
