Lagos – A 53-year old woman and her two children on Thursday appeared before an Ojokoro Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, charged with beating up a tenant with plank.
The defendants, Hannah Oyebola; 53, Dupe Akintona; 29, and Sunday Oyebola; 27, are facing two-count charge of assault and breach of peace.
The prosecutor, Insp Lugard Ahonle, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on March 4 at 56, Tayo Akinade St., Ipaja, Lagos, at 5.30 a.m.
“The defendants were trying to forcefully eject Charles Ese, a tenant, when they beat himk.
“Sunday hit Ese on his head with a plank which caused him serious injury’’, he said.
Ahonle added that the offences contravened sections 56 and 177 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty when the charges were read to them.
Magistrate Taiwo Akanni granted the defendants bail in the sum of N50,000 each with two sureties each in like sum.
She adjourned the case to June 3 for mention. (NAN)
