ADO EKITI–THE Onijan of Ijan Ekiti, Oba Samuel Fadahunsi, has said the Ekiti State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate, for the June 21 election, Mr. Ayo Fayose, has no hand in the death of late Dr. Ayo Daramola, an indigene of the town, who was assassinated in August, 2006.
The monarch stated this at his palace when the PDP candidate paid him a courtesy visit during a campaign tour to the wards in Gboyin Local Government Area of the state.
According to him, a ritual performed to fish out the killers exonerated Fayose, saying he was satisfied with the outcome because the ritual was properly performed, claiming that the identity of the killers were later unmasked through the ritual.
His words, “We know the killers of Daramola because their identities were revealed through the ritual we performed. Fayose is innocent. The ritual we performed was thorough, it exonerated Fayose. It said that Fayose did not kill our son. Therefore those linking Fayose to Daramola’s death are doing so for mischief and political reason. As far as I am concerned as the monarch, Fayose has no hand in the death of our son.”
Earlier, the PDP candidate told the monarch that he had come to get royal blessing from him and urged him to ignore any rumour concocted to cause disaffection between him and the monarch.

Meanwhile, former deputy governor of the state, Abiodun Aluko, yesterday denied insinuations that the 13 aggrieved PDP governorship aspirants were bribed to support Fayose.
Speaking at his Ikere Ekiti in a meeting with Fayose, Aluko said he decided to support Fayose for the coming election because of his respect for President Goodluck Jonathan, who had pacified them.
