Akwa Ibom State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, said, yesterday, that it will not tolerate any further action by any person or group that threatens the integrity and unity of the party in the state.

State chairman of the party, Obong Paul Ekpo, who gave the warning at the inauguration of the Finance and Building Committees of the party in Uyo, condemned a recent meeting hosted by some people under the name of PDP Elders, which he said was at variance with the unity and progress of the party in the state.

Ekpo explained that no PDP Elders Forum had been formed in the state, adding that the party will not hesitate to deal decisively with those hiding under the guise of PDP Elders  to cause disharmony in the party.

He said that the PDP was impressed with the leadership attributes of the state governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio, which has made Akwa Ibom the most sought after destination in Nigeria.
