ABUJA— AS Christians across the country join the world to celebrate this year’s Easter, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, Senator Bala Mohammed, yesterday, pleaded with residents of the territory to pray for President Goodluck Jonathan to succeed in addressing the problems confronting the country.
Bala also called on residents of the Federal Capital Territory to, in the spirit of Easter celebration, spread the gospel of love, sacrifice, tolerance and peaceful co-existence among one another.
The minister who made this call in his Easter message said the celebration called for sober reflection and sacrifice as well as emulating the exemplary life of Jesus Christ.
Bala charged residents of the Federal Capital Territory to re-dedicate themselves to the service of God and humanity to make the world a better place than we met it, adding that residents should continue to supplicate to God for peace and prosperity to reign in our dear nation especially with the current security challenges the country is facing.
He said, “As you pray for the nation, I enjoin you to also pray for its leadership, for God to continue to guide, protect and give President Goodluck Jonathan the strength and the wisdom to steer the affairs of state, so that he will judiciously implement the Transformation Agenda of the Federal Government.”
Senator Mohammed who used the occasion to further commiserate with the people that lost their loved ones and those who survived, but sustained various degrees of injury in the recent Nyanya bomb blast, assured that the FCT Administration in collaboration with the security agencies are more than ever committed to protecting the lives and property of all the residents of the Territory.
He, however, advised residents to be security conscious and always report any suspicious movement to the law enforcement agents; insisting that security is everybody’s business.
