WARRI—ALADJA community in Udu Local Government Area, Delta State, has been thrown into total blackout, following last week’s protests by residents over epileptic power supply and perceived outrageous bills.

Residents, who see the total blackout as Benin Electricity Distribution Company, BEDC’s, punitive action for last Wednesday’s protest, have promised total show- down with BEDC.

Mrs. Augustina Edirin, who resides in Ighwre Quarters, in a chat with Vanguard, yesterday said: “That the electricity company cut off our light for daring to protest what we perceived as injustice, is the height of it.  They should never bring light bills either, because we will not pay for what we did not consume.”
