Super Eagles striker, Shola Ameobi has urged his team-mates to work hard to quickly end the ongoing crisis at Newcastle, who have lost their last four matches in Premier League.
32-year-old Ameobi, who has been at the club since 1995 experienced a lot of such crises and revealed that the best way to return to winning ways is simply to work hard.
“The fans are obviously frustrated, and that’s understandable. When you lose four in a row, it’s going to be very frustrating and no one’s enjoying the position we’re in,” he told thejournal.co.uk.
“I think we showed against Stoke that we desperately wanted to get something out of the game. We just have to keep on plugging away. “I’ve been at Newcastle for long enough now to know that things can go from very bad to very good in a short space of time. It’s not the first time we’ve had a tough situation at Newcastle, and I’m sure it won’t be the last. We just have to keep on working hard, and hopefully it’ll turn.” Newcastle have a difficult schedule for the rest of the season, as they will play at home to two relegation-threatened Welsh sides – Swansea and Cardiff, while the other two games are away clashes against Arsenal and Liverpool.
