The election of Governor Theodor Orji of Abia State as the chairman South East Governors’ Forum has been described as a trail blazer and a development long foretold.

According to Mr. Ben Onyechere, a former aide to the governor, Orji  is a personality who is widely acceptable with the requisite charisma and amiability all of which add to the power of negotiation because time has past for exhibition of brooks and brash attitude as a stand point and as a n identity of a big and respectable race like the Igbo not minding the mistakes of the past.

Onyechere said: “With his assumption if leadership, Igbo will no longer have to struggle to get whatever are their dues, judging from what he has been able to achieve already as a result of his closeness to the seat of power, irrespective of what ugly feelings some people may be harbouring

“The truth is that Governor Theodore Orji is a man whose time is now, but what it will require to succeed is the collectivity and homogeneity of interests which will serve to attract more federal presence in terms of infrastructure and human capital development.”
