LOKOJA – Amid incessant cases of insurgency in the North Eastern region, the Nigeria Navy has said it will review its strategies for combating insecurity.
The Flag Officer Commanding, FOC, the Central Naval Command, Admiral Peter Agba dropped this hint in Lokoja, yesterday, while on a familiarization tour to all units and bases under his command.
Agba said though most of the insurgencies were taking place on land instead, the military would not completely abandon the possibility of the sect attacking from the waters too.
He said Kogi State was important to the security of the country as there had been plans in the past by some militant groups to bomb both the Ajaokuta Bridge and the Niger Bridge in Jamata.
