An Ojo Magistrate’s Court in Lagos will on March 28 sentence 44-year-old Bala Danjuma, who, yesterday, pleaded guilty to N34,800 fraud and theft.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Taslimi Shomade, fixed the judgment date after the accused pleaded guilty to a two-count charge.

Shomade remanded the accused at the Kirikiri Prisons until the adjourned date for sentencing.

Police prosecutor, Assistant Superintendent Police, Godwin Eze, said the accused, whose address was not known, committed the offences sometime in January at Iyana-Iba Bus Stop, Ojo, Lagos.

Eze said the accused obtained N4,800 from one Mr. Emmanuel Nwofe and John Okorie, under the pretext of giving them a job at Julius Berger Company.

“The accused also stole Nwofe’s phone valued at N30, 000, totaling N34,800,” the prosecutor said.

The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 285 and 312 of the Criminal Law of Lagos, 2011.
