The  Federal Government has been urged to put measures in place to check  pilfering of cargoes and luggage at airports and seaports in Nigeria.

Managing Director, HontGlobal Services Nigeria, Limited, Mr.  Humphrey Okonkwo, who made the call, said millions of dollars had been lost to the pilferage of luggage and cargoes at both airports, and even seaports in the country.

He appealed to the government to instal sophisticated scanning machines as well as Close Circuits Television cameras, CCTVs, at airports and seaports as one of the ways to check pilferage of cargo, stressing that the normal routine of Customs officers cutting through cargoes was destroying goods.
