Residents of Dutse in Jigawa on Friday expressed surprise over the first rainfall recorded in the state.
The heavy downfall, which started 6.10 p.m. lasted for one and half hours.
Rabiu Shehu, a resident of the town told NAN that he was surprised when he noticed heavy cloud in the sky and did not believe it would rain.
He said that the state used to record its first rainfall in the month of May.
Malam Abdulsalam Chaichai, another resident, said that he never thought it would rain in the month of February as the state was not among the states that recorded first rainfall in February.
He said that the heavy downpour could be as a result of global warming. (NAN)
