Bauchi police arrest 3 for raping, plucking out woman’s eyes

BAUCHI— Police in Bauchi State says it has arrested the three suspected ritualists that were responsible for plucking out the eyes of a middle aged woman, Zainab Mohammed, after raping her in Lukshi village, Dass Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

The state Police Public Relation Officer, PPRO, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Haruna Mohammed, gave the names of the suspects as Sabo Rabo of Durr Kat Village, Bitrus Yakubu of Dado Village and Mohammed Bamigboye of Durr Katanga Village.

He said: “The three suspects that were responsible for raping and removing the eyes of a young lady, while she was returning from a ceremony, were arrested following some useful information given to the police by some residents in the area.”

The PPRO said the suspects have confessed to the crime and will be charged to court. He urged residents in the state to be conscious of their environment and report any suspicious character to police.
