LAGOS — A 29-year-old woman, Adebimpe Kosoko, was yesterday arraigned before a Lagos High Court sitting in Igbosere, for being aware of the plot by three suspected robbers to attack one Mrs Sakirat Idowu which she did not report.
Instead, she allegedly received their stolen items with $200 cash.
While Adebimpe was charged with felony and receiving stolen items, an offence which contravened Sections 319, 324, 402, 427 and 403 of the Criminal Code Laws of Lagos State, the three suspected robbers were charged with murder, armed robbery and conspiracy.
The trio are: Idowu Adedeji, 35; Mahmuni Olusoji, 34 and Rauf Anifowose, 30. They were accused of attacking their victim while armed with a gun, shot her and disposed her of two laptops, a BlackBerry phone and jewellery, all valued at N400,000, and $1,000 cash.
According to the charge, the defendants committed the offences on December 1, 2010 at Akiti Avenue, Okota, Lagos at 9.00 p.m but they all pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to them.
State counsel, Mr Afolabi Sholebo, urged the court for a trial date to enable him produce witnesses in court, noting that there was no witness and the defence counsel, Mr O. A Azeez, did not object.
The presiding judge, Justice Aishat Opesanwo, after listening to both counsel, adjourned the case to March 20.
