Ex-Warri Wolves coach Solomon Ogbeide has tipped Ejike Uzoenyi to impress for Nigeria at the World Cup after the winger was adjudged Most Valuable Player at the African Nations Championship.
Ogbeide, who is the secretary general of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association, told News Agency of Nigeria: “Without Uzoenyi that Chan team would not have achieved as much success as they did.
“And if he can reproduce this same form or even better in team A, then I think Nigeria will go very far in the World Cup.”
Uzoenyi scored three goals and provided four assists as the Super Eagles went on to bag 13 goals, the most in the tournament.
The Enugu Rangers man also won three consecutive man-of-the-match awards, before being eventually crowned as the best player in the competition.
