ABAKALIKI — THE Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, has de-marshalled and suspended 82 special marshals in Ebonyi State, following inability to meet up with the assessment parameters of the Corps.

In a statement by the State Sector Commander of FRSC and State Coordinator, Special Marshal and Partnership, SMP. T.G Eseyin and Dr. Henry Uro-chukwu respectively, the agency emphasised that members of the special marshal were expected to be men and women of proven integrity with means of livelihood in society.

It stated that the Corps was ready to partner other agencies to ensure that the objective behind the enlistment of special marshals in the country was achieved.

The FRSC warned the affected special marshals against withholding security materials in their possession as any action in that direction would be termed a criminal offence.

The statement read in part:  “All affected special marshals are to submit all FRSC stickers, documents, materials, regalia, ID cards (including expired ones) to the Sector Commander, Unit Commanders of Afikpo and Ishiagu on or before February 20, 2014.
